RAMESWARAM: The Sri Lankan navy apprehended four fishermen from Rameswaram and their boat on Tuesday morning.
The fishermen-- Marimuthu, Poopillai, Marimuthu and Ganesan -- and their boat were apprehended when it stranded in the Sri Lankan waters following a technical snag.
U Arulanandam of the Alliance for Release of Innocent Fishermen said the boat was apprehended by the Sri Lankan navy near Delft Island.

As of now, 24 fishermen from Rameswaram, Kottaipattinam and Nagapattinam are in Sri Lankan custody. The island nation recently released 76 fishermen.
